We surveyed all the railings for Islington Council. We acting on behalf of the Islington Building Preservation Trust, funded by the Islington Community Environment Trust. Originally bulls heads had filled the niches at the top of the piers but had vanished in the 1950s. Our search appeal was answered from the archives of the Museum of London and we were able to re-cast from an original head. A series of contracts, designed to be let as funds permit for the repair of the railings, included the casting of new heads and their reinstatement on each of the major piers.
