David Gibson Architects is a practice committed to the art of architecture and the
design of good buildings.
We specialise in contemporary intervention in historical/listed buildings enabling
sympathetic interaction between good modern design and historic building. This
intervention ranges from total transformation to painstaking, invisible restoration.
The nature of our specialisation cuts across use classes and we have adapted
buildings from many periods to a wide range of functions.
We also have considerable experience in new build projects within sensitive
locations and have developed strong links with the Planning Departments and
Conservation Officers in many London boroughs (most particularly Islington and
Hackney) and with national heritage groups.
We collaborate with our clients. We enjoy working with people. Our experience
over many years has been enriched by a diverse client base who expect to see
their ideas reflected in the end building without compromise to technical and
aesthetic issues.
We always argue for the long term economy of quality work. We fully support the
best practice in energy conservation in building use.
The success of the practice is based on the wide range of our work, on the
experience and enthusiasm of an established team working together.
