Formed by David Gibson in 1986, the practice is currently nine strong. Our
collective experience ranges from conservation/contemporary intervention to
the new build of private residences, and the redefinition of retail and commercial
spaces- all having the quality of the built environment as primary concern. 

David Gibson had previously been an associate with first, Colin St John Wilson
(working on the British Library Team), then with Alex Gordon and Partners. Prior to
this he had worked as a freelance conservation consultant/architect and Julian
Harrap Architects and with James Stirling. 

Rob Hughes has been an associate of DGA since 1992, having previously worked
with Kasabov Associates and with Douglas Stephen and Partners. 

In addition to the professional achievements of the practice, David Gibson has
been a member of the Islington's Conservation Advisory Committee for over
twenty years and has served for five years as a professional advisor to the planning
committee. On behalf of the Islington Society, he has co-ordinated their respected
local awards scheme, the Geoffrey Gribble Award, whose brief is to recognise
works of conservation whose impact is deemed to have had the greatest beneficial
effect on the local environment. 

Both David and Rob have had extensive teaching experience at the Bartlett School
of Architecture.
